We’re excited to announce the release of 1Blocker 6, our biggest update yet! Since 2015, our mission has been to create a best-in-class content blocker for Safari that makes the web a more enjoyable place—free from distracting ads, intrusive trackers, and annoying pop-ups. With 1Blocker 6, we’ve completely rebuilt the app to harness the latest Apple technologies, setting a solid foundation for future innovations.

We’ve rewritten 1Blocker using SwiftUI, Apple’s modern framework for building native user interfaces. You’ll notice a cleaner look, smoother navigation, and faster performance. Our goal is to make it simple enough for anyone to use yet powerful enough for those who want to fine-tune every detail.

We’ve enhanced the underlying technology so you’ll see fewer missed ads and fewer false positives. In other words, the annoying ads get blocked, and your favorite sites display exactly as they should.

We’ve reorganized how filters work, especially for annoyances like cookie notices, newsletter pop-ups, and chat widgets. These are now separated into more granular subcategories, giving you precise control over each type of content you want to block or keep.

On iOS, the feature that blocks in-app trackers—previously called Firewall—has been integrated into the Privacy Protection category. This change simplifies the interface and makes it easier to manage.

Our newly designed rule list gives you complete visibility into what’s being blocked. You can easily browse through each rule, customize your settings, or enable/disable rules at any time.

Our custom rules feature just got more powerful with additional resource types and other parameters. Whether you want to add your favorite site to the allowlist to support its ads or hide a distracting element on a specific page, you can tailor 1Blocker to fit your exact needs.
